1. Short title and commencement.— (1) These Rules may be called the Kerala Panchayats Subordinate Service Rules, 1994.
(2) They shall be deemed to have come into force on the first day of January, 1990.
2. Constitution.—(1) The service shall consist of the following categories of Officers, namely:
Category 1 Special Grade Executive Officer (Redesignated as Special Grade Secretary) (Grama Panchayat) with effect from 23rd April, 1994.
Category 2– Panchayat Inspector/Junior Superintendent.
Category 3 Executive Officer (Redesignated as Secretary) (Grama Panchayat) with effect from 23rd April, 1994.
Category 1 – Head Clerk
ategory 2– Upper Division Clerk
Category 3 Lower Division Clerk
Category 4 Peon
Category 1– Librarian Grade I
Category 2– Librarian Grade II
Category 3 Librarian Grade III
Category 4 Librarian Grade IV
Category 1– Nursery School Teacher
Category 2 Ayah
